Tongue Brushes

Tongue BrushesBrushing teeth regularly removes bacteria within the oral cavity to a great extent. Although, substantial amounts of bacteria may still harbor in the oral cavity, especially on the surface of the tongue.

These microorganisms may cause the saliva in the oral cavity to remain acidic even though the surfaces of your teeth are clean. This in turn may cause the formation of cavities on the long run. Thus it is equally important to clean the surface of the tongue as it is to clean the surfaces of teeth.

Although there are brushes specifically designed to brush the tongue, most toothbrushes produced today have additional surfaces on the back of the tip of the brushes to clean the surfaces of tongues. The surface of tongues should be brushed from the rear towards the front.
